Buying a New Computer

Many ways can be found to buy a computer anymore. When you don?t have the money to purchase it outright, there may be a few alternative ways to get you the computer today. It has a lot of benefits, especially if you depend on the computer to make your own income. You can work now, and pay as you go in reasonable installments.

First off there are a number of Rent-To-Own stores that not only can rent you a computer, rather nearly anything else you might want in your home as well.  These can usually be found in your hometown or not far off from there. They usually insist on delivering it to you. How convenient!

They usually don?t require major credit checks, and their biggest requirement is to know exactly where the equipment is kept, and used. This enables them to repossess it if they don?t get their payment. The payment you pay weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly as agreed. Often monthly payment at a time will save you on a payment fee. This option still allows you to own it in the end, and you can always pay it off early with some discount (often 50% of the remaining payments). If you don?t like the equipment, you simply return it and pay nothing more.

Other choices that often do require credit checks and often no delivery are typical store credit or other finance companies. Online you will find these options on Gateway, Dell, among other computer manufacturers, and very often in various computer carrying stores locally.

In this case it more or less amounts to an unsecured loan (where the equipment can?t be repossessed) where you pay each week, bi-weekly or more often monthly until the equipment is paid off. Often you pay less in the long run, however at the same time you can?t simply decide you don?t like what you are paying for. Your option is to pay it off, though selling the equipment may make that possible, and if you find a good dollar for it, you may find a little extra after paying off the computer.

In the end, before actually getting the computer, make sure it is capable of what you want, and will remain useful while you are paying for it, and hopefully well beyond. Also look for answers on things such as what happens if it doesn?t work. Rent-To-Own often services the equipment until you are done paying. Whereas the other direction usually sticks with the manufacturer?s limited warranty, add any extended service plan you may include in the package through proper channels.
